#springbreak Time!!!

It’s has been more than a year since everything went crazy worldwide; the schedules, routines, everything.

We the entire team of Candy Club and our loving parent community kept on tight together, trying different ways keep the fun in learning alive for our kids. We started Candy Club Online, we introduced ‘The Rythym Program’ first time in Pakistan and the list goes on. The most important and the toughest thing we did as a learning community, was, we did not lose hope!

Now, after a year, we can see, the positive energy through our kids driving all over the forest & flourishing it to the fullest.

We, gladly take it as an opportunity to appreciate the parents and our team for the hard work and efforts throughout.

It’s time to rejuvenate for all of us!

When there is mess in play, the learning is definetly extreme!!!

Kids while doing #pottery often laugh and express joy at the feelings, smells, and sounds that clay can make. Manipulating the clay can be also simple first lesson for children, to help them understand that their actions influence the outside world and the art which they create. Pottery comes in with a package of developments, their, #kinesthetics , #motorskills , #confidence and the list goes on.

But what is more important, how you get them do it?

At #CandyClub making every subject interesting and loving for kids is what we focus at. #Children do have several fears when they see the #potterwheel or #clay for the first time. Elemenating that and generating love and appriciation for anything they do is the key to they development.

Oh, and not to forget, we love getting #messy!

An environment where everyone owns their own mess and tidying it up themselves, provides your child with not only responsibility but also accountability.

This is very important for children in their early years and to develop such an environment at their school or home completely depends on their facilitators.

When we decided to finally take our 'Rythym Program' online for our kids, we had cold feet; as the biggest challenge was to meet the expectations of our kids & their parents. To get along, maintaining the right balance and not affecting the essence of Candy Club.

But, the anxiety fizzed off, the moment our children reunited with their teacher. Ever since the pandemic began, children around the

Ever since the pandemic began, children around the world are the ones missing out the most. Their learning & nurturing socially, emotionally, physically has been a challenge. Educationists around have been trying to team up, doing their best coming up with different and innovative strategies to overcome the loss, which may or may not work.

We too have been discussing with schools for the little ones like us, sharing ideas, brainstorming for better results. Nature-based schools like Candy Club, would not want to play a role in increasing the screen habit of children, as it would be more damaging in the longer run, than development. Therefore, initially, we refrained online sessions for children and started on with ‘Candy Club Online’ for parents to learn and later have some activity-based learning with their children at home.
As the time is passing by and the schools seem to be closed for long now, we thought of improvising the idea of online sessions, where there can be a balance between online sessions and the essence of nature-based learning as much as possible.
We use the 'Rhythm' method in school for developing our daily activities and learning material. We are going to help parents adopt the rhythm to provide a structure for time creating Candy Club moments at home; so that your children can feel secure in knowing what to expect. With a sense of our ‘Rhythm program’, you can move throughout days with alternating activities of inward focus and outward focus, much like the rhythm of breathing, inhaling, and exhaling.

We know this can never be a replacement of your child's physical presence in Candy Club, but following 'Candy Club's Rhythm Program' is an effort by our team trying to bring home an enriching source of development and joy which would fly your children to Candy Club through the color-filled rainbow of happiness & positivity that always surrounds us!

Growing Date Palm | Activities | Candy Club Online. Having many other community programs running, team Candy Club wanted to start a program where waste can be converted into green. Long discussions brought us to a conclusion; where we realized the amount of ‘Dates’ which are consumed in the Holy Month of Ramadan throughout Karachi and how many trees can be grown out of those seeds which are discarded.

We started it off as a pilot project two years back within the team & friends; collected around 150-200 date seeds, which is not even 1% what is discarded.

Our pre-schoolers planted those seeds and waited for them to sprout; by the grace of God 90% of those seeds sprouted and now we will be distributing them to our community parents of Candy Club Pre-School.

We plan to take this initiative forward with a vision of collecting 100k seeds in the coming Ramadan.

If every individual does this at their own, imagine 10 million or more small date palm saplings all over Karachi in a year.

Yesterday we received a message on Candy Club School's online portal from one the parents; the parent was amazed by the belief her little one has in Candy Club School.

The parent had randomly asked her child a question:

Mama: "What happens in the fortress when you are not going to school Hania?" Hania: "There are angels making Candy Club more beautiful and lovable for all the kids, so we can play & bake. Also teacher showed us the E for eggs of the D for ducks, they will hatch and we will have baby ducks!". The message was really heart melting for all of us & so much motivating for the entire team of Candy Club, as the belief of our children is actually true!

The team has really been on toes since day one of the lock down. Staying at home yet connected via internet, we have been trying different and new domains to keep the kids and parents engaged. The academic team is busy planning & scheduling the coming year with more learning through play and fun, trying to prepare a planner more enriching than ever. The facilitators are busy developing more activities and are developing their abilities with different online courses provided by the school, the management has taken charge of being a production team creating online content & they are having a ball! breaking the stereotype of boring educationists by turning themselves into online presenters for fun learning.

All this enthusiasm and the optimistic approach of the entire team and Candy Club #parentscommunity is what makes us stand strong together for the little ones. As a school this is our biggest achievement that kids don't fear the school but miss it everyday & #love #dreaming about joining it back everyday!
